Such was the success of Fall 2010′s Sushi Night hosted by our own Mariana and husband Chef Nacho, the SOS club brought it back for Spring 2011.
With a full attendance of would-be sushi masters, SOs hacked and slashed and wrapped and draped until they mastered the oriental art.
Nacho, who owns a sushi restaurant in Mexico, brings his blend of Mexican flavours to the mix, infusing citrus vibes with orange and lime into the usual soy dipping sauce. As for the sushi, interesting uses of cream cheese, mango and avacodo with salmon, tuna, cucumber and sesame seeds. For the more adventurous, there was a sushi roll with cream cheese on the outside – quite a feat, and one requiring the use of cellophane and 2 rolling mats. Even the most seasoned sushi jedi would balk.
Sushi Night is fast becoming quite the event to be at, so stay tuned for Sushi Night Fall 2011.
